So fast-forward 10 years or so, and here I am planning my own wedding, with that memory still at the forefront of my mind.
Traditional bridesmaid dresses have never been my thing. They just seem so uninspired! Your wedding is an opportunity to be creative, yet for me traditional bridesmaid dresses seem so lacking in thought (and quite often style). That's not to say I hate them. I actually considered dresses briefly, but obviously with a twist! I'll elaborate more when I do a 'bridesmaid dresses' post.
But for now, back to separates...
I researched lots of looks, and below are some of the styles I found and have used as the inspiration for my bridesmaid separates:
I just think these are so much more stylish than anything I've seen at weddings I've attended. The upside to the separates look is you can work with every body type by slightly amending the tops or skirts to suit the individual, which is much more forgiving and far less restricting. It should be noted one dress does NOT suit all.
The only downside for me was colour. I have 4 bridesmaids and wanted each to wear a different colour skirt. But, as I'm a bride on a budget, I didn't have the money to get anything tailor made, and the high street will very rarely stock a style in more than 2 colours, so I've had to go with one colour for all.
After lots of researching and online shopping, I've finally got outfits that I love. My wedding isn't until December so you'll have to wait patiently until then to see my final choices!
Juggalos seem to be a kind of second brother/sisterhood for outcasts, weirdies, and other people who don't fit in with normie stuff.
